Quaint parlors.
More out of order photos.
Happy girls. It was lovely to spend time with Janie.
Another beautiful day.
Local farm stand
New and interesting terrain.
Still lots of hills. This was the day Jettie's feet started bothering her a lot. Janie was holding up well.
Cool little island. There are over 3000 islands off the coast of Maine. Who knew?!
Hilly. Lumpy. Bumpy.
Jett got in the sag on this day. I experienced the 3rd bee sting in my entire life. The 2nd of which happened on Day 1 in Maine. What is it with Maine bees? They are mean. Here's a shot of Jett swabbing my bee-stung finger with some pain reliever. Didn't work. That sucker hurt for hours!
Our favorite sign! "Truck on cheese" means a nice downhill is coming! And that little speck in the distance is Janie. She made it all the way today!
Inside the Co-op where we stopped for lunch. Look at all those yummy wines! But not at lunch. Too many hilly miles to travel today.
Interesting (and icky to me) local seafood offerings.
And no one took up the offer of maple mustard beets...
Waiting for our lunch outside the Co-op.
This is Patrick from Philly. He is also touring Maine for the first time.
Here's me getting ready to traverse the Waldo-Hancock Bridge. It looked massive from a distance.
It was beautiful. And terrifying to cross. The winds gusting from the side scared the bejeebus out of me! I was happy to arrive on the other side as quickly as possible.
Here's some nice rollers.
We were quite happy with the cloud cover. It really cooled things off. We started out the week with some hot, humid weather. This type of weather was super comfortable for cycling.
Closer to Castine, we began to see historical signs and markers.
Here's our inn. Always a happy sight!
And nice to have the inn so close to the water.
Our room. Small, but nice.
Castine is charming. See the little seal head embedded in the sidewalk above? These little miniature sculptures were spread out all along the walk toward the ocean.
Goodnight to beautiful Castine. Thus ends Day # 4.
