This is Marshall Point Lighthouse, made famous in the Forrest Gump movie. Beautiful.
Our group of 8 typically split up early in the day, then we would regroup at certain points and always for lunch. Here's the group hanging about and chatting at the lighthouse.
Our weather was wonderful. Clouds were gathering, but on a supported tour, no worries - we knew we could hop into the van if the weather turned ugly.
I loved seeing all the "honor" system fresh produce for sale.
I decided I loved the houses painted this shade of green. Soothing.
Our scenic lunch stop.
Behind the counter at the Keog Store.
Jettie's lobster roll. I tasted it - yuck - I simply do not like lobster. Not in California and not in Maine.
The Keog Store. Pronounced "gig."
I watched this local woman pull in with her boat and her catch of 20 lobsters. She was so friendly!
Showing me one of her catch. (I am told the oldsters call them "bugs.")
Joyce (Massachusetts), Jett, and Russ (Chicago). Good friends!
We did some more climbing on foot to the top of the Owl's Head Lighthouse.
Difficult to see, but there are many pot buoys at work here. Norman said the lobsters are so plentiful because their natural predators, cod fish, were fished to near extinction.
Jettie on hot pink feet heading up the stairs.
Gorgeous flora and fauna hillside.
Norman is guarding our bikes.
Possibly my favorite photo of the week. Pot buoys and lobster signs = Maine
Another lovely cemetery on our way to the inn.
Norman helping with bags. Check out this wallpaper!
This was the day we had time for laundry. Jett zipped over to the Bee Queen laundry across the street. We line dried our bike shorts in the room under the ceiling fan. Jett threw up a pair of her shorts onto the poster bed and the fan caught it and tossed it clear across the room. Sorry I missed that!
Downtown Camden
This was the night of our sunset schooner tour!
Nice boat.
Here's our schooner - I've never done this before and found it very exciting.
Here's Captain Matt. He said he was hired because he looked like the advertising.
We passed the Bedowin tall ship, the official vessel of the state of Maine. Very cool.

Norman looks like he is balancing a sailboat on his head. Jett was in her ocean element.
Wine and cheese and ocean = bliss.
Norman was keen to notice when Captain Matt put on his raincoat. We were all hoping the weather would hold and the expected storms would wait until after our cruise.
Up close - a pot buoy at work! (I know, it does not take much to excite me.)
Norman dons the rain poncho. He says this is only the 2nd time in all his years of Summer Feet that he used a rain poncho. I called him a wimp (my poncho was already on).
My favorite shot of Janie in her poncho with her wine glass. Making the best of it! Unfortunately, we had to turn around and head back early. Still it was super fun while it lasted.
A very late post-schooner dinner. We were all almost too tired to eat. Almost.
And thus ends Day # 3 of the tour.
