We all had a blast today. Below are the sights for the day.

Here's Steve getting his "RAGBRAI VIRGIN" demarcation on his legs. This is RAGBRAI tradition. Somehow Steve ended up with "Virgin RAG." People seemed to get the point.

Debbie's mark of virginity.

Debbie riding past corn fields.

Stevie!

Interesting pink mohawk dude and his buddy.

Two of the Pink Flamingos. I see them every year. There must be 8 of them. Hot pink seems to be a theme...

Our first town was Orange City, a lovely Dutch town. Here is a guy making wooden shoes.

More Dutch greeters in Orange City.

Who does this for 57 miles???

Cute little 3-year-old filling up our water bottles.

Debbie took to the corn fields like a natural. Her grandmother is from Marcus, Iowa - our 5th town on the route today. Corn must be in her blood...

I was tempted to buy this t-shirt for Jett...

One of many boom boxes giving us all a musical lift today.

We sandwich our bikes together to keep them off the ground when we stop in the towns and campsite. They are very cozy together!
It is 3:30 and we are resting, waiting for Ron Oman's dinner at 6 PM. Although it is still hot (99 degrees), we have some wonderful shade and our faithful breeze. Life at RAGBRAI is good!
Cell phone reception is very poor. My changes of posting any of this on a timely basis is iffy. It all may be posted after I return home!
Next up - we'll head into town at some point (post-nap I hope) and dinner at 6. Not sure if we'll try to stay up late and go to the beer garden/listen to tonight's band. The band last night was excellent - but they didn't stop until 11 PM.. Too late for our 5 AM wake up call!
