RAGBRAI Day 4

Hello All,

I'm in a wicked hurry, so apologies in advance for the rushed blog entry. It is 8:40 PM and the skies are darkening. We had a late dinner (Chinese- quite good), and got to the Internet bus late.

Here's Cathy, Darrin, and Bob. Darrin rode with us today. He is good fun!

We found a new technique for writing our daily messages. We got a lot of stares, I'm afraid.

Darrin is our official callegrapher for this trip.

Today's message was "I smelled Lance." This has gotten the most comments so far. Mostly people ride up behind me and ask me what he smelled like ("Good!" is my reply). One guy asked me precisely where I smelled Lance. Yikes!

Brent's message read, "Death B4 Deraillers." This is reference to his fixed gear bike - it does not shift and he cannot coast. He as to pedal every blessed mile of this trip. Not many people could pull this off! (Note: Cathy suggested an alternative spelling for this message, but we could not use it as it was a bit obscene. And you thought Cathy was all sweetness and goodness!)

On the road.

A sight I really did not want to see, but somehow found it within myself to share with you.

And I really don't want to know what's going on with (in?) Brent's bike shorts today!

This nice guy was pushing his lady up the hill (I really must get myself a personal domestique next year).

Darrin and Cathy giving Brent a boast up a huge tractor (and you know what Brent's bike shorts looked like!).

Nothing runs like a Deere!

Spam head guys.

Dancing in the beer garden!

Foaming in the beer garden!

I'm getting kicked out of here, so I'm being brief with the comments. Sorry.

Me and Darrin.

Me and Cathy out for a real dinner!
Love to all!
